An Australian study published in this month’s edition of the British Journal of Sports Medicine shows that athletes who took a daily dose of the probiotic Lactobacillus fermentum VRI 003 reported less than half the number of days of respiratory symptoms than athletes who took a similar capsule with no active ingredients (placebo).

And the days they did have a cold, it was less severe than for those who didn’t take the probiotic.

Yet another reason to keep guts healthy through daily probiotics.
